As a latecomer to the whole Bill Pentz/Clear Vue approach to dust collection my contacts with the guys (Ed and Matt) have been quite limited. My own system is currently under construction.

That said i've formed the clear impression of a group of people doing the right thing for the right reasons - who give an excellent service too.

I'd for that reason like to thank them for what what they have done, and to thank them also for raising our understanding of these systems enormously. Here's hoping that the closing of the business has not been problematical, and that it'll lead comfortably into the next phase of both their lives.

The timing is in one way a pity, as the ideas seem recently to be gaining some traction in the UK. It'd certainly be nice if somebody was interested in picking up the ball and running with it.

Thanks guys, and good luck going forward.

I am also sad to see the folks at Clearvue go. I have been saving up to buy a cyclone later this summer. I know Bill Pentz's son is selling steel kits now but I was really impressed with the Clearvue version. Hopefully someone with more dollars than I have will decide to buy the business and get it going again soon.

I had the pleasure speaking with Ed on a couple of occasions. Friendly and easy to talk to.

UPS damaged two units on their way to the Canada/US boarder north of Duluth MN. Ed and Co. shipped new units (3) until one arrived safe and sound. Now that is EXCELLENT service!

I too am sorry to see them "pack-up" but respect their decision, as I too just retired. It's the next phase of our lives.

I would like to wish Ed and his wife the very best for a very long healthy and happy retirement. I hope that they will be able to find a buyer for the business quickly. Woodworkers need the quality product and service that Ed and company produced.

This is one company that did not close due to poor customer service. Ed and Matt rank up at the top when it comes to taking care of their customer and for that I thank them and wish them well.

You may still be able to get a ClearVue Cyclone! The North Carolina Woodworker, Inc is holding a Spring Raffle for a fund raiser and a ClearVue CV-1800 is one of the top prizes. We spoke to Ed a few months ago and he made a generous donation of a system for the raffle. Yes, he is that kind of a guy! In case you are curious, I'm VP of NCWWI and I'm running the raffle!

You can find out more information about the NC Woodworker organization at our website and about the Spring Raffle at this link (http://www.ncwoodworker.net/forums/showpost.php?p=310035). You do not need to be a member to enter the drawing (membership is limited to residents of North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee except in special cases) by using a mail-in form available by download. For those in the eligible states, online registration for membership is easy and you can purchase $5 drawing tickets online. You'll need to move quickly because the Raffle closes on May 18th. If you have questions, do not hesitate to PM me or send an email to drawinginfo@ncwoodworker.net.

Ed, we thank you for all of your great products and dedicated customer service over the years -- we wish you the very best in your retirement -- maybe we can get together for a round of golf!

It's sad to see a family run USA-made shop close doors, but everyone has to do what is right for them. In the end, I'm glad I was able to order a clear vue cyclone and support goods made in the good 'ol US.

With the kind of service and commitment Ed and Matt have shown over the years, I gather they will be successful in whatever they take on next.
