Guys, do any of you see a problem with running 6" ABS for the piping system? The old system (prior to Clearvue) I ran 4" ABS and it worked great. I have only seen on this board folks using 6" S&D PVC. Would the ABS work too? Is it a cost issue? Size issue?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Thanks, John

ABS has much thicker walls and will probably cost loads more than ASTM-D2729 pipe. 6" ABS has a 6.62" OD, while D2729 is closer to 6.25" -- both have 6" ID. ABS will work, but it is lots heavier, more expensive and will require stouter hangers. ClearVue blast gates are made to fit D2729 pipe and fitting flex will be a challenge, too. Now you know why most of us search a bit harder to find the bell-end Sewer & Drain (S&D) D2729 pipe.

McRabbit is correct. I think the reason Bill Pentz came up with this pipe, and recommended it, is it's the lowest cost per performance pipe available to us. It has smooth walls, so drag coefficient is low for best performance. Jim.
