Ok, I just purchased and have received the clearvue system, I am thinking about doing the ducting in PVC along with flexible hose. I have a basic shop layout in my fully dedicated 21 by 21 double garage with a sectional style garage door.
I have a 10" stationary table saw, 14" bandsaw, floor type drill press, 6" jointer, 9X48disc/belt sander, 13 inch planer, chop and radial saw, and a thickness sander to be added this year.
I am going to have a contractor come in to do the electrical but I would like to have the wiring supplies on hand. Has anyone developed a list?
I have a local builders suppies willing to order the pvc. So far they have quoted me $29 for a 10 ft pipe, and $23 for each "Y". I am wondering at that price if HVAC would be better. 6 PVC inch is not easy to find around here. (Northern CA) Is there an online source for the joints. I have about a $500. budget at this time which I hope will be enough to do the wiring and ducting. I would like to add a remote switch though.
I would appreciate any and all help to gather the rest of the supplies needed.
Where do I start.....

Sounds like we are in about the same spot.

I'm wiring my cyclone to a dedicated breaker (my fuse box is out in the garage and is 10 ft away). I bought a plastic utility box (1 foot square) to countain the starter relay and remote. For the remote, I found a 15a, used for christmas lights, $10 at Menards. Menards, I discovered has a good supply of 6" Y's, 45 degree bends, transisitons, and 6" SD pipe. So having said all this, here is my list:

- 10-3 Wire
- 30A breaker
- Plastic Utiltiy Box (so Radio waves can transmit correctly)
- DPDT Relay (see ClearVue link section)
- 2X4's for cyclone mounting bracket
- 3/4" plywood for mounting bracket
- Sealer for MDF parts (I saw this in a previous thread & thought it was a good
idea)

I hope to have it mounted this weekend and possibly wired.

Good Luck :D

Jan,
There is a thread on PVC right here where several people have shared information about PVC pipe and fittings. I would start with that.

Electrical.....on the installation instructions page I have a link to a $10.00 relay that can be controled with an x-10 type remote that turns lights on and off. I believe you can buy the remotes at ACE hardware, Home depot etc.....also on e-bay. Electrical supplies....I would use #10 wire and a 30 amp double pole circuit breaker. You will need a junction box to put the relay in. Besides some misc electrical connectors that should pretty well cover the electrical to the cyclone.

Thanks guys. I need to study that instruction page a little better, don't I :) I am on my way to home depot (90 miles away)

In the same boat, just got the system. Would love to see some pics or hear some more details about the remote, on/off switch issues. Unfortunately, I had the electician come and run the 220 service. He switch over my tablesaw from 110 to 220, but had to go get parts to do it. I would love to see a complete parts list so I could have everything on hand once I get him back. I will post some pics if I make any progress myself. Thanks guys. ;)
