Hope everyone is having a good weekend! I'm on a quest for flex hose. I have looked at Jet (on sale at Tool King 10' 6" for 49.99, 10' 4" for 37.99, 7.99 total shipping) Oneida, Wynn, and some other companies on line. Where have you bought your flex from, how much was the flex and shipping, and have you been happy with it? The tool King sale ends Monday, the second. Thanks for any ideas you might have! Jim.

Jim,
Matt and I have both bought some Wynn hose. I believe it's still 4.00/ft + shipping and we are both happy with it. It is the cheaper of the hose they handle (the PVC) but it is quite heavy and has held up well. I also caught a sale on Amazon and bought some of the cheap PSI 4" hose (50' for 34.99 + free shipping). It is light and flexible and slightly heavier than dryer vent hose, but it didn't last very long on my CNC router before it started getting holes in it. Grizzly handles hose too, but I don't know anything about it.

Thanks Ed. Yes I saw that, and have e-mailed them for a shipping quote. I have also posed the question on SMC, and the Jet hose I was looking at seems to be ok, and one poster said that the Flexhaust hose from Woodworkers Supply was good. So far the Flexhaust hose is a little cheaper with shipping than Wynn before shipping. I'm going to sit on it for the weekend and see if anyone else chimes in with good or stay away from type info.

And you'll be happy to hear, I think I found an electric service company that will hook up the shop without going to commercial rates. We are deregulated here in Tx, so we can choose from a list of providers. This one will do the second meter, no basic monthly rate, and lower kw/h price than I've been paying! So maybe this puppy will breathe life after all!! :o :D Thanks again! Jim.

Lee Valley also has mail-order flex hose in sizes up to and including 6". See http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?c=...505&cat=1,42401 (http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?c=2&p=51505&cat=1,42401)

I decided to get the Woodworkers Supply hose. The 6" came in today, and the 4" will be another 10 days as it was not in stock. I opened the box and checked it. Very substatial hose. I need to compare it to the short piece of flex that came on the bottom of my CV, but it could be a little smoother on the inside. Then again, it's a 10' piece of hose compressed into a box 4 feet long, and that could very well create the extra "ribs" I feel on the inside. I'll get it out and stretched out Sat. and compare it to the other hose. Jim.
