I have a couple of "stationary" tools that can't be stationary. I'll need to roll them away from their working positions where the dust collection lives. I'm trying to work out the best way to release the hose from the collection port, without having to bother with the hose clamps. I have a couple of ideas, but none of them are terribly elegant. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Anthony

It has been my plan to use the flared ends from the S&D pipe with wood handles screwed to the sides 180 degrees apart. Thoughts are, sand the edges with a slight roll (both on the male and female) and use a light jamb fit (friction) to make the connection using the flare end on the hose and a straight section of the pipe on the tool. Hope this helps.:) Regards, Guitarman

Berone,

I have done what guitarman suggested and works well in the vertical position......works horzontally too but sometimes the flex hose 'shrinks' and pulls off.

Tonight's "duh" moment brought to you by... That's much simpler than anything I was working on. Since all of my pipe was salvaged from a show, there are almost no flared ends. But I do have a number of connectors, so the same theory applies. If it doesn't want to stay on, I can cut a channel into the connector to take a screw head in the attaching pipe.
