Any cabinet tablesaw needs TWO ports in the cabinet, one to supply the air and one to exhaust to the DE. I left the original port and made another so the original port supplies the air into the cabinet. Bandsaws are the same, they two need an inlet port equal to or greater in size than the DE port, if this is not done the dust will not be extracted due to lack of air supply.

While I agree that there needs to be adequate inlet air to make up for the air being exhausted with dust, be careful not to place the inlet port too close to the exhaust port since air may "short circuit" between the two. I rely on the openings that are at the saw tilt slot and the louvered motor cover and the space at the very top of the cabinet where the table is attached since these are large enough for good inlet flow and move air from the top of the saw toward the exhaust port that is low on the base of the cabinet. I don't think an auxiliary supply air port is really necessary.

Yeah, but what if you ran a hose from an input port to where it would blow across the blade on the way to the exit port?....Hmmmmm. Jim.
